We all need to start (or restart) somewhere. Our Couch to 5K program is a great way to learn how to run or relearn what you may have forgotten during your rest period. Many marathon runners find building up their first 3 miles is the hardest hurdle for their to overcome. We can help you over this hurdle so you can enjoy a healthier lifestyle and savor the enjoyment of running and racing. Our running class is designed to safely turn you into a runner burning up asphalt & calories.
Step 1 – Assessment
This personalized coaching consultation will assess your current fitness level and more importantly your busy life to figure out how best for you to start your running career. The assessment also provides you answers to many questions that rookie runners often have but are too afraid to ask. We want to make sure you start your training in a safe & healthy manner so you can avoid injuries and focus on running faster & longer as you improve your fitness.
Step 2 – Personalized Training Plan
We all don’t wear a size 13 sneaker and neither should we all follow the same training plan. We will customize a training plan that is just right for your evolving fitness status, your long-term running goals and your current work & family schedules.
Step 3 – Weekly Running Class
To keep you motivated and progressing on your training plan, we provide group runs with other Couch to 5K participants. Our learning to run class includes complimentary Gatorade and water along the training route, coaching feedback during your miles and educational lectures after the training. Sign up for the Tuesday Night class, Saturday morning class or double down & do both. Class is about 1 hour long and held in Nomahegan Park, Cranford, NJ this season.
